    Very good

The staff were lovely and we were treated well and the rooms are fine but a bit chintzy. I just think they need updating a bit. The bed was surprisingly comfy, and massive, my partner has a bad back and every time we come home from somewhere he is in agony for weeks well not this time, the beds were fab.

I just think overall it needs a revamp, the shower was tap controlled so it took a while to find the right temperature and the wardrobes were a bit sniffy. I think a paint job and some electric showers wouldn't go a miss and it was hard trying to get use to a 14" tv again. But I guess we are all just spoilt these days and I wasn't there to watch tv anyway. The prices of the alcohol were a bit steep, I think you should get a supplement if you are staying a couple of nights like we were.

    Exceptional

the staff are so welcoming & do anything to help, we where there for my son's wedding reception & couldn't have asked for anyone better than angela to look after us she is an absolute star, also set in lovely grounds with amazing views

    Good

food excellent. Staff very helpful and pleasant relaxed friendly atmosphere drinks a bit expensive will be nice when redecorating is finished. Iron and board in room was good. There for a wedding Spacious sitting areas and function rooms. Well organised

could do with a few bits of modernisation without losing the style should be totally non smoking and then have a good spring clean to get rid of the staleness.

Excellent value for that area. Very friendly staff. Service and food superb. Location suited our needs for our journey. Close enough to Edinburgh but rural surroundings made for a pleasant respite after our journey.

Liked the grounds peaceful to sit in, and couches in the lounge, the calm feeling when you walk in the hotel

    dining room arrangements for sitting

    Superb

Breakfast and the mroning service was excellent, set you up for a lovely day.

Dinner was ok, the waiter did not pay attention to our order and we kept having to ask for different things, it was clear the table had just been used and I had to remove food from the chair and the table was not set properly. There was many other tables available. Dinner service was poor on a whole, but I would not let this be an issue, think they may have just been having a bad day.

    Very good

Nice rural location, only 5mins from Biggar. Good breakfast, very attentive and friendly staff.

Slightly outdated bathroom decor / facilities, compared with say a travelodge or similar. Mould on tiled wall next to shower!

    Fabulous

friendly staff and very helpfull. Unfortunately there had been a smkoer in the room we were given and smoke was still lingering. the day we arrived. The cleaner had reported it, so this room should have been unoccupied until they had removed all traces of smoke. Very unfortunate.

    updated reception and bar area

Very noisy at night, thin walls, mouldy bathmat, extremely outdated bathroom, dirty marks on the walls, lumps under the carpet, dribble of a shower, bad lighting, poor service at breakfast, vastly overpriced for the standard of accommodation

    Good

arrived late evening for one night stop off on way to highlands, warm welcome on check in shown straight to room, first impressions of hotel reception, restaurant & bar were good, clean and tidy good service and good breakfast in the morning.

the room we were given was in need of some much needed TLC, poor decor poor shower(no control over water temp) uncomfortable bed, let the stay down as every thing else was so much better than the room.
